airberlin suspends frequent flyer mileage accrual and redemptions
On 19 August 2017, airberlin announced the suspension of frequent flyer mileage accrual and redemptions for members of its own topbonus programme and the frequent flyer programmes of its partner airlines. For Marco Polo Club members, this impacts club points accrual and Asia Miles accrual and redemption only. Silver, Gold and Diamond members will continue to enjoy benefits and privileges when travelling with all oneworld carriers as usual.
If you travel on an airberlin flight on or before 6 September 2017, you will still earn club points and Asia Miles. But due to the suspension of mileage accrual and redemptions by airberlin, we cannot obtain the flight data from the airline. Therefore, to claim your club points and Asia Miles, you are advised to complete the missing club points and Asia Miles request form here and email your e-ticket itinerary receipts and boarding passes to [email protected] for verification. Please note flights flown on airberlin after 6 September 2017 will not be eligible for club points and mileage earnings.
Meanwhile, please rest assured that redemption tickets for airberlin issued on or before 29 August 2017 will still be honoured. If you wish to change your flight or have queries regarding your redemption bookings on airberlin, please contact our service centre. We will waive the service fee for changing redemption tickets issued after 29 August 2017.
We appreciate your understanding and will share updated information on our website as it becomes available.
